Skinomi TechSkin goes beyond traditional screen protectors, skins, covers, and cases. This cell phone protector is made from clear thermoplastic urethane film – the same film used to protect military aircrafts and NASA space shuttles. It has the ability to resist high levels of abrasion, making it the ultimate protector for gadgets and devices. The film “scratch-proofs” your device without adding bulk like traditional cases. Skinomi TechSkin is designed to provide lifetime protection for your device. If the film ever wears or scratches, Skinomi will replace it for free, for as long as you need it for your device. If you ever need to remove the TechSkin, it peels off easily leaving no residues unlike other screen protectors or skins.

I followed the directions to a T and still ended up with streaks, bubbles, and little wrinkles. It’s been three days, and though some of the bubbles and streaks went away, there are still lots of little noticeable wrinkles on the film, and it’s definitely very rubbery feeling. It feels like it sticks in my pocket, and hinders my fingers on the touchscreen. By contrast, the Power Support protector I got for my girlfriend’s 3G iPhone is perfect. Since it’s more of a plastic piece than a film, it doesn’t bend or wrinkle. I’ll keep the Skinomi on my iPhone 4 until the Power Support comes out, then it’s the old switcheroo.

It was easy to install, and you can not tell it’s there… Is not as rubbery feeling at the Zagg product which I have on a 3Gs, yet is durable. The product will not make the antenna issue go away (just a little) though it has side strips, because your hand still will contact the steel antenna a little, but that is not it’s purpose – it will however protect your phone as it was designed to do from scratches. Do not try to fit certain cases over this like iFrogz (it will not fit) due to the extra added thickness.

I bought this product a couple days ago and when i received it, i only received the front shield. I emailed skinomi’s customer service about this problem through amazon and the customer service was amazing. They generously refunded my order AND decided to send me a whole new kit. Great customer service, really appreciative.

    Now for the review.

I only installed the front shield, and i gotta say, its pretty nice. I’ve read reviews of this product before i bought it and people seem to have problems with the “grainy” and “distorted” effect this protector has on the iphone 4 screen. After one day this problem has disappeared completely. Same with the tiny air bubbles. One MAJOR thing i will tell you is to apply the protector in a DUST FREE AREA. That is really important. I feel comfortable with this shield and i will be looking forward to use more shields from skinomi.

Comparing this to Zagg Invis shield.

I think this is superior compared to Zagg’s iphone 4 product. I recently visited my ATT store and Zagg’s product for the iphone 4 includes the front and back protector for a total of $30 and tax. Skinomi’s product includes the front, back, AND sides for alittle less than HALF the price of Zagg’s product. This is the factor that won me over. Also the great customer service is a benefit. I would choose skinomi over any protector because the fact that it has great shields and the price for it is just jaw dropping.

In a busy world of “instant gratification is everything,” it seemed counter intuitive to buy a phone skin that required some degree of labor, patience, and powered-off dry time, but the quality of the Skinomi product is well worth the effort! I had a matte finish “static cling”-style skin on my iPhone 3GS which I loved and was eager to find something similar for my iPhone 4, which is how I discovered the TechSkin. I read mixed reviews of their products (negatives were only in regards to the installation procedure), but I decided to buy one anyway and have subsequently determined that anyone who had difficulty applying the skin must have tried to do so using their feet instead of their hands. It took me less than 10 minutes to apply both the front and back skins (I skipped the side bits for the aluminum) and both are positioned perfectly. Being impatient, I started using the phone about 3-4 hours after installation of the skins and the finish was already nearly perfect. By the next morning I couldn’t tell the skin was there unless I held it at the proper angle in the light. Oddly, while the skin seems to give the glass a better grip, sliding a finger over the skin is much smoother and more fluid than sliding it over the naked glass, as a side-by-side comparison proved. The screen images appear to be crystal clear and there’s no loss of sensitivity of the touch screen, even with very light finger swiping. As mentioned, holding the powered-off phone at a certain angle in the light reveals a very slight texture to the skin (like an orange peel, as someone else observed), but looking directly at the phone, especially when the screen is lit, shows the same clarity and high-gloss, reflective finish you get from just the plain glass. To me this is the only drawback as I prefer a matte finish, but I love the look and feel of the TechSkin so much that it doesn’t really bother me. Also, while a non-matte skin still allows for noticeable fingerprints, they’re much fainter and easier to clean than prints on the plain glass, as another comparison proved. I highly recommend this product to anyone with at least half a brain and a small bit of patience!

INSTALLATION HINTS: Definitely follow all the simple instructions (there are also YouTube videos demonstrating installation), work in a very clean area (ideally apply the skin immediately after removing the protective shipping plastic that comes with the phone to prevent attracting any dust), work under a bright light so it’s easier to see and align all the edges, keep your fingers and both sides of the skins moist with the included solution until they’re positioned where you want them, and DON’T LET GO of the final corner of the skin until you’ve got it just right, which makes it easier to shift the skin if necessary without having to pry up a corner.

The product I received is nothing like the description. I received an iPhone 3G front screen skin and that is IT! No side screen and no back skin. The e-mail I received from their customer service Dept was a sorry excuse for tricking their customers.

    I DO NOT RECOMMEND IT
