   I bought this case so I could use my iphone to check the weather radar while in my pool. (I teach swimming classes.) I’m amazed that I’m able to use all the phone’s many features and still have a good level of protection against moisture and shock. I also have the Surge solar battery case so that I am able to charge my phone at our beach in Oaxaca. (we have no electric service there.) Unfortunately, they cannot both be used at the same time. It’s difficult, and I suppose it would compromise the integrity of the OtterBox if I were to remove and replace it multiple times. I went to both the Apple store and Best Buy to try to locate a cord that would connect my iphone to the Surge while still in the OtterBox. Neither the BB guy nor the Apple ‘geniuses’ were of any help. Happily, on Amazon, I found a solution. It will also help those with the OtterBox connect with their Dock, external battery or Bose system etc. You will need to use a fingernail file to make a slight adjustment to the male end of the 30 pin extension cord, but it’s a quick and easy job.30 Pin Dock Extender Cable-50 cm in White Looks like my phone will work rain or shine!!

   Solid box with good protection. I have had it fall out a couple of times when I don’t get it attached just right when I am carrying it horizontally. You have to make sure it is really snugly in just right. The vibrate/sound off button is hard to access due to the thickness of the case. Small fingers or a findernail may not have this problem.

   This is clearly the best protective case one can buy for an iPhone. There are only two shortcomings. Often, a liquid or grease film develops between the phone and the case screen protector. Sometimes this can be improved by applying baby powder to the phone and wiping it off with a microfiber towel to remove excess accumulated finger grease. The phone should be cleaned well before placing in the case prior to the baby powder. The power outlet is very restrictive and thus the phone cannot be used with a lot of charging equipment other than the original USB cable. It will not dock into the radios and other devices without having to remove the case. It is definitely bulkier than the phone which some find offensive.

   I wish I could give this 5 stars-but the case pulls my hair and always looks dirty. Because the case is some sort of rubber, it pulls my hair when I try to hold the phone with just my shoulder, and the texture attracts every piece of dust, lint, and dog hair in the room. Lastly, the screen protector has permanent bubbles. My husband has the same case and has no bubbles- so maybe it was how I installed it? All that being said- I love the protection this case gives my phone and it is holding up great- even when our child throws it to the ground. This is EASILY the best case I have tried and when they can fix my few little issues I will give it the total 5 stars

   This case is built like a tank. I dropped it playing soccer with my son and it slid about 7 feet on concrete pavement. Not a single scratch. Screen Protector works well. I too had the oil slicking problem on the screen but I wiped the inside of the case screen and the phone screen lightly with 70% rubbing alcohol and it fixed the problem. Only negative is the silicone shell. It has a weakness at the charge connector receptacle cover. It tends to tear no matter how careful am with it. It still covers the port but has a hairline tear on the edge where it folds upward. Call me picky but in my world everything has to be JUST THE WAY I LIKE IT!
