When I ordered this, I was expecting both a front and back screen protector in each pack. That wasn’t the case. They only make front screen protectors. Kinda pisses me off since I don’t want smudges or anything on the back screen either, so I have to stick with the film over my phone that came in the box from the factory. If you were expecting both a front and back screen protector, don’t buy this! I’m thinking about getting a full refund on this. Also, the seller took FOREVER in shipping this. Didn’t get it til almost a WEEK after the expected shipment arrival date. I’ve never had that problem before and it already made me want to never buy something from Minisuit again.
As others have stated, these are NOT “crystal clear” as advertised, but instead have a MATTE anti-reflective finish.
It even said crystal clear on the packaging, nothing about matte, nothing about anti-reflective, and then you don’t find out it’s MATTE until after you spend 30 minutes or so putting it on and then peal off the 2nd film covering the screen protector.
I didn’t want MATTE because I knew it would ruin the awesomeness of the iPhone 4 retina display and I WAS RIGHT. The once beautiful display now looks HORRIBLE with this MATTE piece of junk on it.
Also, this screen protector has an extra hole above the ear speaker which I assume is for the ambient light sensor or something.
And, there are bad air bubbles around the home button and the ear speaker hole that I don’t think will disappear, because the plastic around the holes seems to be raised and kinked from the manufacturing process when the home button and ear speaker holes were punched out.
I am going to take this piece of junk off in the morning and request an immediate refund.
Installed no problem – no bubbles, fit fine, I think the “extra” hole on top is for the proximity sensor. It does prevent fingerprints and oil smudges. But the matte screen makes the image quality horrible. I have put screen protectors on the 2G, 3G, 3GS, and ipad with no problem – with very little impact to the image quality. But this one is unacceptable. I will definitely buy another brand and switch over asap.
Here is my original review- Do not buy these. I would rate these less than 1 star if possible. These screen protectors do not fit, I purchased 3 of them and when they are lined up properly with the ear speaker and the home button there is excess material that hangs off the bottom of the phone at the corners. Maybe I got 3 defective ones or wrong ones, but I am 100% sure that the products I received will not fit the phone and there is no way to make them fit without trimming them. The screen protectors I received also did not have a hole for the front camera.
Update as of 7-10-10. I received the wrong item. The seller sent me the correct screen protectors and all 3 appear to be the same and they are all clear film. The fit pretty well and seem to be decent screen protectors, especially for the price.
I had hoped this would cover the front and the back as both sides are glass. The cover fits as expected.
